What We Believe…

#1) About the Bible

At Central, we believe that the Bible is the inerrant and inspired Word of God. Saying that the Bible is inerrant is another way of saying we believe the Bible is true and accurate, without any errors. When we say that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, we are saying that we believe the words that are in the Bible are from God. Very simply, we believe that God made sure that the men who wrote the books of the Bible wrote only the words He wanted them to write. Reading the Bible daily and taking time to pray every day is very important and will help you to become spiritually strong!

#2) About Communion

At Central we take (or observe as some say) communion every week because we believe this is what the early church did. When we take communion each week we should remember that Jesus died for us. As we remember that He died for us we should think about the things we have done. In our hearts we should thank Him for dying for our sins and we should ask Him to forgive us of the sins we have committed. We should also ask Him to help us to live each day doing the things He wants us to do.

#3) About Attendance

The Bible encourages us to be faithful in attendance. It is important to keep coming to church services (worship, Sunday School, youth meetings, etc.) It is important for lots of reasons. You learn more and grow more. You receive encouragement from others and you encourage them! The friends you make at church can help you to resist doing the wrong thing (they become a positive peer group).

#4) About Giving

Everything that exists belongs to God. We own nothing. When we give an offering we show our thanks to God for providing for our needs. We also are reminded that God is the owner of it all. Your church offerings are put together with the other offerings. The money collected is used to pay for the church building, programs and ministries. A percentage of the money is given to missionaries.
